  • Represent

I was unable to make it to the Turkey Challenge this weekend, but like the emperor of the dark side, I was leader board stalking the entire weekend, and am proud of those who competed this weekend! We had a solid group of athletes that represented well for the gym, and among them Garrett took 1st place in the Men’s Open Division! Nicely done to everyone who threw down this weekend!

  • Big Weekend

Big day tomorrow! Classes at the gym are on as usual, but if you get a chance, you should make your way out to Denver and/or Boulder to see some of our athletes in action! The Turkey Challenge which is hosted by MBS CrossFit is in Denver, and there is the Harvest Open Weightlifting Meet at CrossFit Roots in Boulder. Bre and Alyssa are competing in the women’s pro division, Austin P. is competing in the women’s open division, Garrett and and Condor are competing in the men’s open division, our pal Shep is back in town to compete in the men’s pro division, and Austin G. is competing on a mixed team in the open division. Coach Jake is lifting at CrossFit Roots. Wish them all luck tomorrow/this weekend, and if you get a chance to check out one of these events I would highly encourage it!

  • Barbells For Boobs 2016

Alright grasshoppas, Barbells For Boobs is THIS SATURDAY! I know there is a lot going on with homecoming, but if you can make it in for a quick morning throw down for a good cause, that would be great!

    The History:
This is an annual event for our gym, and last year was a HUGE success. It was the first year we did the raffle and collected donations in house as well as online. The raffle was such a success that we had to bring it back this year! We have great sponsors who have donated prizes and will be announcing them as the week progresses.

    The Times:
Everything will start at 9am, and depending how many people show up we will just plan to run in heats until everyone has had their chance to workout. I am anticipating to be finished by 11am!

    The Workouts:

Traditionally, the workout has and will always continue to be the benchmark workout, “Grace”

“Grace” is 30 Clean and Jerks for time @ 135/95#, and normally we cap the workout at 10 minutes and make them power cleans!

In years past I have also given the option for “Grace” variations, and will continue to do so this year. Those variations include:

Heavy Grace – Same as Grace but the weights are 225/155#
Double Grace – Same as Grace but 60 reps instead of 30
Strongman Grace – 30 Reps of Fat Bar Clean and Jerks, Stone to Shoulder, or maybe even tire flips if you are feeling real froggy!

    Want to Contribute?
No problem! We will be accepting donations at the gym and in the form of purchased raffle tickets. There is also a website created by our home gym athlete, Sherrill Lewis, that is linked directly to the Barbells For Boobs page. Anyone can make a donation page of their own to share with their friends, but rather than making a GYM page, the online donations will go to Sherrill’s page! Also, if you know of any third party business or organization that might want to contribute to the raffle or make a donation, please feel free to have them contact me before this Friday!

  • ATTITUDE NATION!

Alright guys, here is the deal for tomorrow, (Saturday Sept 24th)

For my members, there are NO classes and NO open gym.

Open gym on Sunday will go as scheduled from 9am-11am

For those attending the Jon North/Jared Undertone Seminar your best point of contact if you need anything is me, Ryan Garcia, and I can be reached at 970-691-2309

Our address is 2160 West Drake Road Unit A1-2. This address when put into a GPS will take you to the gas station on the OPPOSITE end of the plaza from where we are actually located. Our nearest crossroads are Drake and Taft. Here is a map of our location, there is plenty of parking in the plaza.

PLEASE NOTE: This weekend there is heavy construction that has the intersection of Drake and Shields CLOSED for the weekend. Shields is the street about a mile EAST of our gym, but is a popular and probably one of the more common routes used to get the gym. Prospect road is North of Drake, Horsetooth and Harmony are South of Drake, and all 3 of those roads run directly to Taft and will allow you to access the gym.

The action begins at 9am, and will go until approximately 6pm, with a lunch break at some point in the middle.

I have sinks at the gym, but no water fountains, so I recommend bringing a water bottle for yourself. If you can sign up 10-15 mins early I will have a waiver for you to sign. I plan on being at the gym around 8am, so early arrivals are no problem!

The stage is set for a great weekend, and I look forward to meeting you all and enjoying the day with you! Please feel free to contact me if you need anything in the meantime!

  • Weekend Warriors

What a great day with many highlights! Thanks to everyone who came out for the support, and congrats to the athletes that represented well!

  • No classes on Saturday

Most of you saw the whiteboard announcement, and I tried to share it with as many classes as I could, but tomorrow (Saturday) there are NO classes.
I am helping volunteer at the Project Uplift competition hosted by OTAC CrossFit at Whole Foods.
Jenna will be at the gym from 9-11am doing her own thing, and she agreed to allow that be an open gym time, but there are no official classes, so please be respectful of her time.
If you have nothing going on, you could also make your way out to Whole Foods to watch the completion! Our very own Bre, Erin, G, and Garrett are competing!
I apologize for any inconvenience, but thanks for understanding!
Corson and Austin are also competing tomorrow in Castle Rock for the Battle at the Rock. Good luck to you all, I have no doubt you will represent well!
