You are all on the brink of completing your 2017 CrossFit Open!

For handful of you, this was not your first rodeo, but I am very impressed by the vast majority of you all that signed up FOR THE FIRST TIME this year, and FOLLOWED THROUGH with every workout!

That is a great accomplishment! I am proud of you all for stepping outside of your comfort zones!

From a coaching standpoint, it was my pleasure to watch you all push yourselves to new heights, new PR’s, and continue to lay the foundation for future improvement as an athlete! I couldn’t be more proud of the all around effort this year!

With 17.5 on the horizon, there isn’t much left to say.

I am a little surprised ring muscle ups were left out for the 2nd consecutive year, but keeping with tradition for the final workout of the open, it is something miserable that a wide majority of participants can do, and it has thrusters.

I will definitely need judging help if you are available.

This workout has the potential to be very long for some, so plan on the individual heats staggering as judging becomes available.

My recommendations as you prep for the workout:

If you have your own rope, make sure you tighten the screws, and maybe even tape the ends beforehand. There are even some recommendations about having a back up rope just in case! Make sure you warm up well before hand. Do something to break a sweat early so when your heart rate gets elevated in the workout, it doesn’t shock your system.
