Wednesday’s WOD:
Happy Birthday James!
Tuesday’s WOD:
As many of you may have already seen, there has been an AMAZING showing of support for Kevin Ogar who was severely injured yesterday while competing in the OC Throwdown. Today we will be doing the WOD that was made by his fellow coach and Owner of CrossFit Unbroken, Matt Hathcock. Hathcock describes the WOD as follows: “These are Kevin’s favorite movements in CrossFit. He was doing a TnG triple snatch in competition. The date is 1/12/14. If you are doing an event in your box to help out please use this. We are hoping CrossFit HQ will make it official as our sport has not seen such a catastrophic injury possibly never even in the sport of weightlifting. Barbells for Boobs will be lunching an official site tomorrow to show all of you who may not know Kevin what an amazing athlete and person he is. The support so far is immense. Please keep it going.” We will post the link to the Barbells For Boobs fundraising page once it is released (Tomorrow at 2pm) and we have already linked the Fundly account where donations have already reached over $85,000. As mentioned before, our thoughts and prayers go out to Kevin, his family, and his close friends. Not sure who took the picture below, but would like to give them some recognition as well for the great shot of Kevin in action doing what he loves!

Barbells For Boobs Update:
OGAR UPDATE | Kevin’s first surgery is in the books and though it is a step in the right direction he’s got a very long road ahead of him. More surgeries, years of rehabilitation and a life drastically different than the one he knew is in store for this young soul. We’re doing everything in our power to get the right fundraising platform set up for him so that we can get him focused solely on rehabilitation. We’re launching a website at 2pm (PST) tomorrow that should shed a ton of light on how the fundraising process will work from that point on. Thank you for your patience, ensuring that a platform will benefit someone for a lifetime takes a lot of work and we want to get this thing right, so rally your troops and hold the line until we sound the horn. Big things to come. It’s time to get #ogarstrong.
Monday’s WOD:
Happy birthday Kelly Fielitz Patyk and Tatum Burnett!
Many of you have been asking, “What’s with this buy in/cash out thing?” No I am not going to Vegas, and no you really don’t have an option of buying in or cashing out, it is essentially just a way for me to sneak in multiple workouts in on you guys…kidding…kind of…I never really thought the name or concept of doing things before and after a labeled “WOD” would cause such a stir. However, for this cycle of programming, y’all should get used to it! I am open to new and creative names if anyone has any suggestions. How about, “Appetizer/Dessert” instead of “Buy in/cash out”?
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Kevin Ogar, and his family. Kevin is an athlete and coach at CrossFit Unbroken in Englewood, Colorado. Today he sustained a serious spinal injury at the OC Throwdown and will inevitably face a hard road to recovery. There is already word of a fundraiser to help him and his family during this time of need. Keep an eye out for any updates, and keep this incredible athlete in your prayers.
Monday’s WOD:
New programming cycle starts today with a focus on the CrossFit Open! For those of you who are unfamiliar with the open, stand by, you will learn!
Thursday’s WOD:
Some of you may have seen that Melissa Gillen has some coaching hours on the schedule tomorrow! As mentioned before, you can expect to see her taking on a few shifts to help share the load between coaches! Make sure and treat her with the same respect you have treated the other coaches thus far!
