Here are the details for the 3rd annual Battle Buddies competition that will be hosted at Wild Horizons CrossFit on Saturday, November 9th from 9am-1pm.

This year is the FIRE TEAM THROWDOWN, and it will consist of teams of 4!

Each team must have 2 males, and 2 females.

Each individual will compete in 3 events throughout the course of the day, and the workouts are designed in a way where teams can build a group of specialists for optimal success.

Events 1A and 1B will run simultaneously and the teams will be split into Male/Female partners

Events 2A and 2B will run simultaneously and the teams will be split into Male/Male and Female/Female partners.

Event 3 is the final event and will consist of the entire team working together to complete the workout.

The workout details are explained below:

Event 1A:

Female 1 And Male 1 work together in this event.

Female 1 has 10 Mins To Establish a 1RM Max Conventional Deadlift.

*2 Min Rest*

After the 2 minute rest, Male 1 will have 3 Mins to perform an AMRAP of Snatches @ 50% of Female 1’s Max Deadlift.

There will be 2 scores in this event. The first score will be the heaviest successful deadlift, and the second score will be the sum of the weight of the total reps snatched.

All deadlift numbers will be rounded UP! For example, if Female 1 Deadlifts 225# 50% of that is 112.5. Rounded up this is 113, and because of the 5# increment in pound plates we would round up to 115# If Male 1 Snatches 115# for 10 reps in 3 minutes, his score will by 10×115 for a score of 1,150.

Movement standards for the deadlift and snatch can be found below:

AMRAP of double unders. There will be 2 scores for this event as well. The first score will be Male 2’s 1000m Row time, and the second score will be Female 2’s total number of double under reps. In the event of a tie on double under reps, the row time will also be used as a tie break score.
